Future Projects
Mods I would still like to make to my current Fastback
-
T-5 Conversion - When I bought the car the only thing I really didn't like about it was that
it had a C-4 automatic. I was dead set on a manual transmission (4spd Top Loader, or preferrably a 5spd), but
the car was too good to pass up and I decided it was better to buy this one and do the conversion later. I
have been picking up parts whenever I run across a great deal (I have the bellhousing, clutch pedal, Hurst
shifter, fork, block plate, etc) but there are alot of parts required and this is going to be the most expensive
modification I have done to the car to date. There is a huge amount of information on the Net about this
conversion. My favorite resource is the old GT350Clone site.

Aftermarket Cylinder Heads
- The old factory iron heads are the biggest barrier on my current setup to building considerably
more power (but this is probably true of almost every car). I had really been leaning to AFR 165's or Edelbrock RPM's, but got a really great deal on
some used World Windsor Jr iron heads. I have had them cleaned, and did some minor port work on the head
(mostly just cleaning up irregularities from the casting process). Eventaully I am going to put these things
on the car, but I have been saying that for close to 2 years! I don't know why I have dragged my feet on
this one, because everything I hear and read tells me that the Jr's are a huge improvement over my current
setup. I think deep down I am just holding off hoping that some AFR's will fall into my lap ;-)
Future Cars... If I sell this one to free up garage space...

2005 - 2007 Mustang GT - I love this car because it has the same Fastback
lines that I have always loved. This car has infinite modification options from a drivetrain
and styling perspective which make it especially appealing. A mid $20K starting price with
300hp, overdrive 5spd, 8.8 traction lock rear (w/ 31 spline axles) is pretty hard to beat too.
I would probably go with a Satin Silver body; Foose Nitrous rims; some Cervini or Roush body mods; lowering springs; and
the usual powertrain mods for starters.

Factory Five Racing 65 Roadster Mark 3
- If you haven't checked into this kit you should probably give it a look. This is an outstanding kit
with a really good entry price. A tubular frame car that weighs only 2200 pounds with a small block Ford engine
is basically a 300-400hp go-cart. There is a ton of information on the Net about this
kit and Mustangs & Fords magazine has been chronicling a build of one of these for more than 13 months.
Everything that I have read and heard about this car is very good. I have always thought the Cobra is
one of the all time coolest cars, and this looks like an opportunity to build a better one with a choice
of crate motor and drivetrain to suit your specific needs.

Another Fastback
- There are so many options here... Another 65-68 FB (maybe as a Shelby clone). Maybe a 69-70 Fastback or Mach 1. These
cars have a great look with large wheels and a dropped look. So many cool cars so little garage space!
